Sue McIntosh is a Certified Canadian Counsellor with a Masters Degree in Counselling and additional training in both equine and animal assisted therapy and trauma therapy. Based near Calgary, Sue has been offering Neufeld informed services and resources over the past fifteen years through her private counselling and professional training program, Healing Hooves. Sue provides Counselling, Personal Growth, Parent consulting and Attachment Resources to individuals, parents, children and adolescents including doing trauma work. Her counselling programs and services can often be funded and/ or costs reimbursed through FSCD (Family Support for Children with Disabilities), and private insurance companies.
Sue offers nationally recognised and certified professional training and personal growth workshops in Equine and Animal Assisted Therapy following an approach grounded in the Neufeld paradigm.
Sue has published a series of therapeutic stories for children - a great resource for reaching and helping any child, without triggering defenses. Stories explore topics including grief and loss, frustration, alarm, grace, holding on and the unconditional nature of love. The stories all star the ponies, dogs and cats Sue works with at Healing Hooves and 100% of the proceeds from the sale of these books go to fund counselling sessions with low income families.
