Adjunct & Associate Faculty

Our adjunct faculty have all had previous faculty appointments with the Neufeld Institute and are now applying their knowledge in other academic and professional roles. Although no longer able to fulfill the full responsibilities of a faculty role, they are still available to take teaching assignments from time to time.

Our associate faculty have all studied extensively and mastered the Neufeld approach but have not had the opportunity to intern with Dr. Neufeld personally.

Colleen Drobot

🎓 Adjunct Faculty

Colleen is a registered professional counsellor and parent consultant who works with adults for personal counselling and parents for parent consultation. Colleen has been an educator, bringing over 20 years` experience working with a variety of children with diverse challenges. She is a mother of two children. Colleen draws from her personal and professional experience to support parents and professionals in gaining insight, opening their hearts and leading by their intuition. Through stories and examples Colleen presents Dr. Neufeld`s approach with passion, humour, and compassion to deepen understanding and apply this approach to everyday life.

Patti Drobot

🎓 Adjunct Faculty

Patti is a registered professional counsellor, parent consultant and presenter with an educational background in rehabilitation medicine and family therapy. Her past experience is in psychiatric occupational therapy where she worked in both hospital and community settings for 20 years as a clinician and educator. She currently runs a private counselling practice in Vancouver. Patti is also the mother of two teenagers.

Denise Findlay

🎓 Adjunct Faculty

Dr. Findlay is a bi-cultural woman who belongs to the Squamish Nation. She works extensively with First Nations in British Columbia and other parts of Canada, usingher mastery of Neufeld's attachment-based developmental approach to confirm and restore indigenous teachings and experience. Besides mothering two sensitive boys and teaching in graduate studies programs in university, Denise advises First Nation communities and programs as well as consults with adults regarding the children in their care. Denise has extensive experience training educators, social workers and helping professionals within the First Nation communities.

Darlene Denis-Friske

🎓 Adjunct Faculty

Dr. Denis-Fiske is an Algonquin Anishinaabe from the Quebec area of Canada who is deeply passionate about the deep cultural wisdom that is part of her heritage. As a Neufeld Institute faculty member, she not only organized many seminars and workshops in the Ottawa area, but also created and led our practitioner training program. A gifted therapist, she has served in a number of settings including schools, a psychiatric hospital and a family health team. Darlene also has an active private practice. She continues to be available to the Neufeld Institute, taking teaching assignments from time to time.

Tracy Azevedo

🎓 Associate Faculty

Tracy has worked with children and youth in various roles over the last twenty-plus years: as a mentor, youth leader, program director, educator, counsellor, and a mother. After her training with the Neufeld Institute as a Course Facilitator, she interned with Tamara Neufeld Strijack towards becoming an associate faculty member of the Neufeld Institute. Together with Tamara, she has taught Neufeld courses in college and seminary settings. She has a heart for troubled children and youth and enjoys equipping the adults involved with the needed insights to make sense of them.

Catherine Korah

🎓 Associate Faculty

Catherine is the coordinator of the Centre of Excellence for Behaviour Management which offers support and expertise to the English School Boards of Quebec to help them to increase their capacity to implement best practices with students who have challenging behaviours. For over 15 years, she has worked in a number of educational settings with both elementary and secondary students. Catherine has been actively involved using the attachment-based developmental approach to provide professional development, consultation, and liaising with various health and social service agencies.
