Course Facilitator

Sue McIntosh is a Certified Canadian Counsellor with a Masters Degree in Counselling and additional training in animal assisted therapy. Based near Calgary, Sue offers the Power to Parent series both to groups and to her individual client families through her private counselling practice, "Healing Hooves". Sue works with individuals, parents, children and adolescents including doing trauma work - all informed by the Neufeld paradigm. She also offers nationally recognised and certified professional training in Equine Facilitated Wellness and Animal Assisted Therapy and personal growth workshops - again all following an approach grounded in the Neufeld paradigm.

Sue has authored a series of therapeutic stories for children - a great resource for reaching and helping any child, without triggering defenses. Stories explore topics including grief and loss, frustration, alarm, grace, holding on and the unconditional nature of love. The stories all star the ponies and cats Sue works with at Healing Hooves.

Most importantly, as a mother who also homeschools two daughters, Sue strives to follow Dr. Neufeld’s paradigm at home as well as at work.

Sue offers the series, Power to Parent I: The Vital Connection; Power to Parent II: Helping Children Grow Up; Power to Parent III: Common Challenges to parents individually within her private counselling practice, "Healing Hooves", and works with children and parents individually from this paradigm. She also facilitates these and other Neufeld courses in groups.
